"Pilgrims are persons in motion -- passing through territories not their own -- seeking something we might call completion, or perhaps the word 'clarity' will do as well, a goal to which only the Spirit's compass points the way."
Richard Niebuhr

Fr. Richard G. Curran

Parochial Vicar -- St. Patrick in Natick, St. Thomas in Salem/Peabody, St. Paul in Hingham, Holy Ghost in Whitman, St. Jerome in No. Weymouth

My own personal pilgrimage has included journeys to over 30 foreign nations on 5 continents. I took my first computer class (Fortran--remember that?) during the summer of my sophomore year in high school at a Boston College summer program under the direction of Fr. Stanley Bezuszka, S.J. in 1963! But, perhaps I gained some scientific interest by osmosis from my next door neighbor (diagonally across the street) who was Isaac Asimov--I used to play with his son and the other neighborhood kids when I was between 5-8 yrs. old!

Prayer for the Canonization

of

Kateri Tekakwitha

Lily of the Mohawks

O God, who, among the many marvels of Your Grace in the New World, did cause to blossom on the banks of the Mohawk and of the St. Lawrence, the pure and tender Lily, Kateri Tekakwitha, grant we beseech You, the favor we beg through her intercession; that this Young Lover of Jesus and of His Cross may soon be counted among her Saints by Holy Mother Church, and that our hearts may be enkindled with a stronger desire to imitate her innocence and faith. Through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.
